Balgonie
Town Council

Tim Sterzer
- Mayor
Welcome to
the Town of Balgonie website. This marks the third term as Mayor for
the Town of Balgonie. The previous terms saw long term plans being formed
for infrastructure, recreation and maintenance equipment. This term
will mark the start of the expansion to the Town water system as the
cornerstone to putting the long range plans into effect. Planning is
still ongoing for replacement of the undergrounds and schools. The focus
is to grow our community in a controlled and sustained method and ensure
that what we build, we can pay for and put to good use. Tim is automatically
part of all committees on council.
Thank you for visiting the website of our town, a town in flight for
a second century.

Randy Vollman
Continuing on his 4th term as Councillor. Following upon previous Council
appointments, Councillor Vollman is head of recreation committee and
sits on public works, utilities and finance committees. A steam engineer
by occupation, the Councillor has been a town resident for 52 years,
raises his family here and enjoys golf and hot holidays. He champions
recreational activities and participates actively on the Recreation
Board. This Board oversees Sask Lottery funding allocations to town
reorganizations. An equal priority is to co-ordinate the activities
of Developers, Council and Consultants regarding infrastructure criteria
within their concept plan. This co-ordination ensures cost efficiencies,
technical considerations, infrastructure services and future development
considerations are achieved to the tax payer’s advantage. He is
looking forward to having the arena paid off and turned over to the
town this year, a great accomplishment for this community!

Glenn Wagner
A Regina Firefighter by occupation, a native Balgonian and a resident
by choice, Glenn is a father of two young children and a sports enthusiast,
especially enjoying hockey and snowmobiling. With his wife Rose, they
enjoy Balgonie’s family atmosphere. Glenn stood as Councillor
because he wants to share his professional firefighting experience with
the community particularly as he is a former Balgonie Fire Department
member and looks forward to the opening of the new Fire Hall. A first
term Councillor, Glenn looks to ordered growth in terms of services
provided and infrastructure development. A parallel priority is to see
Balgonie continue to develop as a safe, family-first community oriented
town. His experience as a firefighter has placed him as Head, Protective
(Fire/Police) Services. Other appointments include membership on the
Finance and Multiplex Committees. In terms of centennial planning, Glenn
believes in listening to community views, starting the planning process
early yet ensuring that such special events planning should not overshadow
day-to-day town priorities.

Pat Wagman
I was raised on a dairy farm southeast of Balgonie and have been a lifelong
resident of this community. I am committed to the Town of Balgonie and
enjoy helping out when needed. I believe Balgonie is well on its way
to becoming one of the most attractive communities to live in. I am
very interested in the inner-workings of this progressive community
and I look forward to assisting the residents of Balgonie to thrive
in our town.

Dave Campbell
Dave has been a resident of Balgonie since his family moved
here in 1966. His wife’s name is Gail and their children are Krista
and Ryan. He has been involved with various local clubs and organizations
over the years. Currently Dave is Chief of the Balgonie Fire Department.
He has also been a member of the Balgonie Elks and The Balgonie Multi-Plex
Co-op. He feels it was important to serve on council, as there are many
important issues on the table. Dave is committed to the future of Balgonie.
The council
that is in place will do it's utmost to continue to represent the best
interests of the town and its residents. Please feel free to contact
Dave.
Carson Leib
It is exciting to part of a Saskatchewan community that has
grown over the past several years. However, growth means continuing
effective management to expand services and infrastructure to meet the
needs of our citizens. I look forward to working with my fellow councillors
and town administration to continue Balgonie's reputation as a great
place to live. My responsibilities include; Deputy Mayor, Head of Public
Works and Engineering along with membership on the Equipment, Maintenance
and Engineering board.

Ken Younghans
I grew up in a small town in Saskatchewan. When I got married and started
a family, I could not think of a better place to raise a family. We
moved to Balgonie 1996 and will continue being part of a wonderful community.
I am employed at Saskatchewan Transportation Co. as a Motor Coach Operator.
I have worked there as long as I haved lived in Balgonie. My family
has grown up here and we have many friends. I have been on the Volunteer
Fire Dept for the last 4 years and enjoy working with the other volunteer's,
they are a very exceptional group of people. This is my first term on
council. I will do the best I can and work hard to ensure a growing
and thriving community that we all know that Balgonie truly is. I hope
to serve on council for many years to come.
